Bug Spray and other Great Ways to Get Rid of Mosquitoes this Summer
There is nothing worse than enjoying a great summer evening with friends and the mosquitoes move in an break up the party. I personally don’t care for bug spray, but it can be effective. Below I will give you ways to make your own homemade bug spray that is non-toxic. Additionally check the many alternatives to bug spray.
Homemade Bug Spray
Lemon Eucalyptus Oil
Mix 1 part Lemon Eucalyptus Oil with 10 parts Sunflower Oil for Skin in a bottle. Try an easy roll on bottle like this. Its super easy to take with you when you’re out camping, hiking or going for an evening stroll. CAUTION! DO NOT USE ON CHILDREN UNDER 3 YEARS OLD.
Lavender Oil
Rub crushed lavender flowers on your skin or rub lavender oil on exposed skin. You will not only repel mosquitoes but you will get the wonderful relaxing side effects of the lavender scent.
Cinnamon Oil
Mix 1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon Oil with 4 ounces of water. Spray with a spray bottle on clothing, upholstery or around the area where you are gathering. Use very sparingly on skin because it can be irritating to bare skin.
